Manly Paradise
Hi all.
Just a very short update. Been in Oz a week now and can't believe how time is flying. Been having such a great time in Manly that we've not made it back into the city since we left on Thursday. Days are so relaxed. We are both seriously into a health kick right now. Every day starts with a run for me, walk for Fiona along the boardwalk a couple of times. We are usually out by about 9.30 and back by about 10.30. There are so many small cove beaches to run to. Thing is, everybody is doing the same thing!!! Young, old, male, female. It just seems to be an incredibly health conscious thing. All along the main Manly beach, school kids are being taught how to surf and having lessons and races on the beach. Everyone just seems so happy and laid back. Once back to the apartment (which now feels very homely) we have brekkie, of fresh fruit, bought from the market on the way in and yoghurt. Then its cricket till lunch.....I actually believe Fiona is more hooked than me at the moment. During the lunch break we swim in the outdoor pool at the apartment in the sun and I do a few weights. Then more cricket. I usually head for another swim early evening and then a nice walk again as the sun sets. Families are out, couples, joggers, serious runners. Its just brilliant.
Test match ends tomorrow so god only knows what we will do with our day. Maybe then we will just have to satisfy ourselves with laying on the beach for most of it.
Think we will probably get into the city at the weekend to try and sort out a booking for Christmas lunch somewhere. Still haven't got our heads round the fact we'll be away and that the sun is shining and its 28 degrees each day. Will be very strange. Also Robbie is playing Sydney Saturday and Sunday nights so may see if there are any tickets available outside the Aussie Stadium.
Anyway, brekkie is calling and the sun is shining. Will try and post more photos soon to show you a few sights of Oz.
Love to all
Phil and Fiona

Sorry about that - listening to Sky sports, Luton losing again, at the moment, to Sunderland this time
Mum says, please will you put some Aussie photos on your blog so that we can feel even more jealous of you two
Need to see how brown you are!

Hello fellow bloggers, how was Robbie? I was so tired when I got your text. I'd had no sleep and we just found out that our flight home was delayed, possibly cancelled or possibly transferred to Bourgas (a 7-hour drive away!!). The good news (if you could call it that) was that eventually after a 5 hour delay we took off and landed at Gatwick 3 hours later. 1.5 hours later your Dad picked us up from Harlington and we're now settled in your Dads room in front of the footy - feels like we've never been away! I don't know how long we're here for though. Minimum of 2 days (I know, only 2 days!!) or well into the New Year maybe. It just depends on a meeting Kev's got tomorrow so fingers crossed it will go well but watch this space...! Anyway, it sounds like you're having a great time - Kev loved Manly and is so jealous. It all sounds like a billion trillion zillion miles away from our life at the moment but I wouldn't change any of it at all even if it is completely crazy all the time! Take care and I second Phils mums comment, more photos would be nice just to remind us how cold, grey and wet the UK is! Lots of love, Jane & Kev xxxx
