Its not all sunshine and surfin ya know

Hi everyone,
Thought we'd just let you know that its been cloudy and raining for the past 24 hours here in sunkissed Manly. Thought that little detail might make you all feel a little chirpier back home. I know 24 hours of rain is no big drama but it has been pretty unseasonal here all week and according to forecasts is expected to carry on for a little while. We tend to get one day absolutely glorious and 30 degrees, the next high cloud and sunny intervals and the next overcast and chilly before returning back to hot and gorgeous again.....very odd. Only seems to be Sydney too, bloody baking non stop in Perth, Cairns and Adelaide. Melbourne a bit iffy too. Still shouldn't complain at least its not cold, frosty and damp with dark mornings and bleak evenings. There, told you we'd make you all feel better!!!!
Anyhow, not much more to say for now other than we move out of the apartment tomorrow to stay with the woman at the letting office for the weekend before moving into a new apartment on Monday. This one actually overlooks the ocean. Then its off into our city apartment by the harbour bridge and opera house on the 23rd for a week before the NYE celebrations. Can't wait. We've bought our eski (coolbox to the Brits) and are planning an al day picnic in the park by the opera house and bridge waiting for the fireworks to begin. Friends we met will maybe join us too so sure it will be a really fun day of drinking and laying in the sun....so long as it makes an appearance.
Funny I should say that, the rain has stopped and I do believe.....yes....can it be.....yes the sun is coming out again. Maybe it'll be a beach day after all!!!! Hope its not too miserable back home.
More pictures very soon

Love to all

Phil and Fiona

Glad to hear you're still having a fab time even if you do seem to enjoy rubbing it in just a little tooooo much!!!

We're all gearing up to Xmas with only a few more days at school before the boys break up on Wednesday. Loads of last minute bits to get, trip planned to Costco, usual panic that I haven't got enough stuff, etc.

Missing you heaps & looking forward to a good chat on Xmas Day. Send us some of you sunshine please. Feel sure you've got enough to spare despite the odd cloud over there.

All our love & Xmas hugs from

Jo, Rob, Ben & Alex xxxx

P.S. Ooh, aah Panesar, say ooh aah Panesar!!

Forgot to say. Great to see the latest photo's but I'm afraid the one of Fiona at the Robbie concert & of a bright pink Phil reading the paper in the apartment rather blows your comments about lack of sunshine right out of the water!!!

Not that I'm at all jealous you understand. I'm just off to bed now ... electric blanket on ... bedsocks at the ready ... shiver, shiver!!

Just been to St Thomas's carol service and this morning to their nativity service in which Ben and Alex took part. We're having our trad party on Thursday with Mum doing enough food to feed everybody until New Year - no change there then! I see the footie and the cricket are still bad. At least we don't get any more ashes until Boxing day. Sorry you're having such crap weather -you don't get any luck at all, do you - only sunny and hot most days, swimming, surfing and beaching. What a hard life. Speak to you soon. Love Dad xxxx
