New apartment and a weird weekend
Well, we have now moved into our new apartment overlooking Manly and Shelley Beaches (see photo). Its a little smaller than our last place and slightly less plush but still more than homely and comfortable and it has beautiful sunrise views over the ocean. We are only here till Saturday and then its into the city and Saville 2 Bond St. Apartments (sounds almost regal doesn't it).
We have just had an interesting weekend at Shari's - the woman from the letting agency. As I think we said before, she's lovely if not a little nuts!!! Pretty sure she's a functioning alcoholic and complete fruit cake. Sometimes manic, sometimes manic depressive. She rents a big place in Manly and its how shall we put it....a work in progress!!! Only a few cockroach incidents and then there was the falling through the bed at half two in the morning and oh yes the flooding of the kitchen when the guy living upstairs kept his bath running about half an hour too long. Lots more other hilarious stories to tell including one of candles and frogs in the bedroom.
Anyhow on the plus side, we did meet a couple of girls who were also staying at chateau Shari. Lucy and Sophie, travelling for a year and seem really nice. Had a few drinks and laughs with them last night. Don't think they wanted to go back to Shari's.
We have just had breakfast out as its Fiona's birthday. Lovely place on the beach. We indulged in eggs, bacon, champagne cocktails etc. Well...a little treat now and then doesn't hurt and makes a change to Special bloody K that we've been living off for the past goodness knows how long. Also heading out to dinner tonight at a local Thai restaurant. Should be lovely.
Anyway, that's all for now. Just time to add that as we were walking off our breakfast along the beach we worked out that in 9 days time we will be exactly half way through our great adventure. Can't believe how fast time is flying and we are still reminding ourselves daily that we must remember to appreciate all that is around us cos it simply is.....breathtaking.....even the cockroaches over the weekend!!
We will try to update before the 25th but if not we hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that Santa brings you all you dream of (only if you've been good mind)!!!
Love to all
Phil and Fiona

Happy Birthday Fluff! Kev's on the phone to you now and by the time he's finished reminiscing about Manly, I don't think there'll be much time left for anyone else to speak to you! I just wanted to say have a fantastic day whatever you do and however Phil chooses to spoil you! The blogs great and its lovely to see a little glimmer of sunshine and lovliness on an otherwise very gloomy day here with freezing fog - I know, I know, I'm sure I should have been a weather girl - I'm obsessed with it!! Loads of love to you both. Jane xxxx
Can't wait to hear about the candles, frogs and cockroaches. Hope you are now settled into the city way of life again. It must be a drag having to leave the beach and those wonderful views.
Never mind, I notice from our news paper that the sun is shining on you once again, so it can't be so bad for you. Luv bunny mum xxxx
Happy Christmas to both of you! Weather bloody miserable here, fog, frost, cold etc. Enjoy the sunshine (not jealous here!!)
This blogs great - you'll get a good publishing deal on a book when you get back?
Good luck on the rest of your travels
